I scanned through this book on kindle and put it on my wish list to buy as a hard copy, and perhaps another for a gift to a gardener friend. Neither of us are on social media so don't know the author BUT I was very impressed with his ideas and commitment to the gardening he's done in his small yard and home in London which is similar to my space and weather. However, until you really get into the nitty gritty work of gardening, it's easy for folks like him to make the successes look super easy when it really takes years of seasons changing with lots of trial and error and disappoinments. It is also a huge commitment of time to take care of it all, indoors or out. So, if you're doing it alone with no help, it's easy to get discouraged by the sheer volume, which has been my unfortunate past experience with just flower gardening. It was pretty while it lasted tho. The continuing successful volume and detail of all this author has built for himself is commendable. As he says, he gave up his real job to commit all his time to these gardening pursuits, and that's what it takes with or without writing books and keeping up with his social media activities. I wish him continued success in all these worthwhile and helpful pursuits, he's an inspiration in this day and age. If you're a complete novice, similar to myself, I'd suggest starting really small with a vegetable or herb that'll definitely be used in your own kitchen. Yes, I'm still planning to buy the hardback book for inspiration during the cold winter months, and we'll see what happens in the spring! Good luck with your dreams! ???
